    Wild mushrooms

Does anyone pick wild mushrooms? While out scouting yesterday i cam across a few tree's on the south side of a ridge with hens and chickens on them .
If there is some interest in having a wild mushroom forum i will make one.

I always had a great interest in that but cannot get my self to eat one even when I am almost 100% sure it is good to eat & 0 takers that will join me in on a meal. Wish I knew an expert. Last weekend in the news there was a story of a guy who ate some and almost died again.

wish my grandpa was still around he was a mushroom expert, and i used to love it when he and grandma would go foraging for them. i went a few times w/ them ,but today i wouldn't know which ones are ok to take except for the hen of the forest. they used to get some they referred to as "buttons" they were excellent tasting fried up w/ some fresh onion and sausage.

I have been kind of intrigued. I saw a show a while ago and some Shrooms are rare and you could make a pile of Cash if you found one! No clue on what it would be! I see themm all over tho, Always wondered! Cool Thread!

I have eaten the puff ball type and they are great! But when your kids
are standing next to you while you eat them saying "Daddy your gonna
die" it takes the enjoyment out of it.
