We need them to do that here in the East.Things can get out of hand
    very fast with the coyote,and fisher-cat population growing.Problem I
think there are not many trappers left.

Yeah, fur trappers are a dyeing breed in Ct. It's hard work!
The fishers are brutal on Squirrels and young turkeys I bet.

The problem in Ct w/coyotes is no snares so the Trappers are stuck with padded jaw foot traps, an ok tool, except the ground is frozen during the time when the fur is prime.
I don't take any Coyote jobs. too much work and no one wants to pay for that time.
I'm surprised more guys don't hunt them w/calls...

How many times have you heard that a coyote has run past them when they were sitting in their stands and they don't shoot them. During Turkey season you can't shoot them but everyone calls them in. There should be no closed season on those things.

When one eats a pet that belongs to a governor or any elected official. THEN you'll see some changes. Needing ten acres of land to trap them, isn't so easy to find here on the coast. And I get peaple who want me to take care of them. A bounty sure won't hurt.

Lundrunner, good thing you don't need ten acres for a deer permit down there.
I agree with Quigly, they should keep the season open year round. Funny, they close it when the majority of coyotes are called in.
