The Town of Redding’s Deer Management Program is authorized by the Conservation Commission and administered by the Office of the First Selectman.
The Conservation Commission has cancelled the Town Open Space Controlled Bow Hunt for 2019-20 season. See note below:
“The Conservation Commission decided at its meeting of August 6, 2019 to suspend the deer hunting program on Town-owned Open Space parcels for the 2019 season so that a longer term review of the program can be done. The low hunter participation and the low deer harvest were 2 other reasons for the suspension. We will revisit the possibility of lifting the suspension next year. Please notify all previous hunters that they must remove their stands if they have not done so. All stands found after the start of hunting season will be removed and disposed of by the Commission.”
