Using Deer Decoy During The Rut

Any of you using a deer decoy during the rut?

I would be be interested in hearing about your successes and failures if you are willing to share them. I have a Montana decoy that I rarely use.

    Thanks,

    Bob

I have a 2D fold up lightweight doe deke that I've put up a couple times this past week. Only had a doe look so far, she was curious and came in TOO close for a shot (besides being behind a hemlock). Directly down wind of it she and her fawn bolted. It was real windy Sat. so I think maybe she was jumpy anyway. But, does don't usually like them anyway. I'm going to try again this morning.
I also have one of the big 3D heavy, noisy dekes. I've had mixed results with that too. But, when they work it's pretty cool.

....of course they only work when there's a deer around to see it. Nothing this morning. It did get a squirrel's attention though.
