    First muzzleloader deer. Any others?

Today I scored my first muzzle loader deer kill. Not a record breaker by any stretch but a decent doe. I didn't weigh her but I bet she would hang about 115 lbs.
My northern CT spot is absolutely dead, I drove to my way eastern CT location which took just shy of 1.5 hrs as I live in Granby.
I may get out once or twice more, but I think I will switch up to my other love, goose hunting.
I will be making a lot of sausage out of this one, so if anyone has tips on that I am all ears.

Congratulations on a nice doe. Good eats for sure.

Real nice doe, congrats. I managed a doe fawn with ML two weeks ago. Too small to brag about, but the opportunities have been slow. So, after that, it was back to bow. Funny how when I have the shotgun, and no buck tag, two bucks walk by within bow range. When I have the bow, a big doe walks by within ML distance..twice. A few days left, but so hard to get up knowing it's single digits.

Congrats on your first with the ML. I managed to connect on a decent 8pt in the middle of December. The season is coming to a close quickly.
