10/14 - Opening Day - Kickin' It Off With Geese

It might be duck opener but DU CT and myself hit the goose fields this morning with a couple buds and one of their younger sons. It was a great opportunity to get the young blood on some geese. Can't pass up that opportunity to bring fowling to a new generation. By 7:30 we had our five man limit of birds on the ground. Migration is on hot! Saw about 300 birds in total. Just about every one of them wanted into our field. Best part of the morning, we had 14 geese down and one to go to hit limits and the young buck made the shot to close out our morning. He's hooked now.

Our duck opener comes Monday! Can't flippin' wait!

    Anyone else get out today??

Great job guys! Way to take the time to spread the goose fever to the younger generation.

Very nice. Friend of mine and I did the same except an afternoon hunt. It worked out good. Had to brush the rust off though. Afternoon hunts have proven to be good but we sat for 3 hours on opening day before we saw anything. But when we did they all showed interest.
