    Hello from East Haven

Hey all, I'm Anthony. I'm a new hunter, grew up in New Haven and am still in the area. Big fan of the outdoors in general and shooting. I use to hunt when I was younger and then got out of it for about 18 years.Getting back into now and i'm lost lol. I'm trying to find places to hunt now in my area and i'm lost.Looking to bow hunt for now and might do rifle.Any help would be very helpful. Anyone know of any good areas? I think my biggest problem is knowing the best public places to hunt. Glad I found this site, looks like a good community with a good amount of decent info!

First and foremost, do you have an archery license?
If not, go to ct.gov/deep and look up the classes. Once you click on hunting, the icon for classes is on the left. Its not that difficult to find.

If you do, then also go to ct.gov/deep and after you click on hunting look up public areas. It is right in front of you after you click on hunting, theres a 5 page slide right there, on the second slide there is an icon for public hunting areas. Look around there and get it figured out. Your in a good area for archery I think. The deer population is higher in the shore towns.

Welcome Anthony, best of luck out there. From what I know, the public land near you should be pretty good for finding deer. Just gotta go out there and get some boots on the ground.
