    Deep Public Hunting Site

Looked at the DEEP maps this morning and it looks like they are changing the mapping system. I haven't played around with it enough to decide if I like it or not. I was aware it was changing because I had a long conversation with one of the biologists the other day. I was inquiring about a flood control area for ducks that I couldn't find info on being able to hunt or not. She said I couldn't hunt it but had it on a list of places to open in the future. She also said they were looking at more places to open to hunting and trapping and said the state had even purchased more land that will hopefully be open for hunting. I made sure to tell her state land trapping was too expensive and she agreed. Anyways just wanted to give you all a heads up on the maps.

State land trapping list for this season hasn't changed over last season. Would be nice to see some new pieces of land added. I can think of many pieces of state land around this corner of the state that aren't open to trapping and for no apparent reason. Price drop in the permit cost would be nice.

Will have to check out the maps.
