You guessed it. Best bang for your buck. If you calculate the odds of drawing Maine VT or NH and how much it'll cost to apply then factor in guides you'll see your fighting an uphill battle. Never mind if there is no point creep, if you apply out west as some of us do you're even more behind the 8ball. Your most economic and probably the most successful is NF with some of the Canadian Provinces offering a good shot at a little bigger bull for a little more. Once you get to Alberta, BC, Yukon you're talking much more. Another decent option is a DIY Alaska moose hunt, you can probably do that on a budget for a little more than NF the bull will be much bigger but your travel costs and shipping of meat will be more. I'm not telling you to not apply just warning you to be prepared for a long wait if you want a bull tag in some of the better areas

When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home

I was going to apply in NY and VT but I didn't bother as the odds were so low. I may next year. WE will see.

Somebody has to be drawn! If you don't apply you will never get one.

I have killed a bull in Vermont using my Dad's tag (subpermitee) and Just got a Vermont Bull tag this year.
Wife was drawn for New Hampshire 4 years ago killed a nice Bull.
I was drawn for Maine in 2010 killed a big bull.

That's 4 Moose hunts in 3 States for me in past 7 Years.

I'm waiting to get one in New Brunswick, CA and Utah Moose tags.

Cant argue with that. I was sorry that I didn't put in for it in the end so I will next year.
