    Forum Rules

Membership on CTHuntingNShooting.com is FREE! We do, however, insist that you abide by the rules detailed below.

All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of CTHuntingNShooting.com, nor vBulletin Solutions, Inc.(developers of vBulletin) will be held responsible for the content of any message.

By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, hateful, threatening, or otherwise in violation of any laws.

The owners of CTHuntingNShooting.com reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason, as well a ban or delete membership without recourse.

This is a private forum and not a public entity. Your membership here is dependent upon following a few rules, so that we can be effective. While open for public use, this is not a democracy. Therefore membership is a privilege and not a right. Forum rules are not up for debate.

You will have to register before you can participate in the Hunting and Shooting Forums.

    1. Basics

Let's keep the discussion to the topic it is under. Keeping the threads and posts on topic, and focused around the varying aspects of hunting and shooting is imperative for CTHuntingNShooting.com to be of value. We have no problem with humor and personal antics, as it livens up the place, let's just try to keep it on track. If it goes too far off track, we will simply lock the post up, and typically will leave it as is.

There is to be NO BASHING, period.

We are here to share information surrounding the topic of hunting, shooting and associated interests. We have not put this forum up to provide a venue for argument or criticism. It's all good to ask questions, post comments, and even retorts. If you have any real beef with a post, either take your concern to PM, report the post (via the Report Post icon), or simply ignore it.

First and foremost, we request that users of this discussion forum obey the Golden Rule:

    * Show RESPECT for this website, this discussion forum, its' members, moderators and administrators.

Follow the Golden Rule and the rest is usually self explanatory. However, since further clarification is often necessary, here are some general guidelines

Please keep profanity, "vulgar" language or abbreviations of said language at a PG-13 level. The same goes for photos or videos; all of said will be edited or deleted if in violation. When we say PG-13, use your head, this means nothing extreme or offensive. Context is everything, but some words (which we won't list) are not acceptable, period. There will be no truly foul language permitted, period. If you feel it is questionable, then it is likely inappropriate.

Youth are the future of our sport, so let us keep the forums free from anything derogatory, racist, or extremist, period. We are grateful for our member's children being introduced to our sport and our many female members so please keep that in mind.

Personal attacks, derogatory name calling or vendettas will not be tolerated, Action taken for offenders will be the discretion of moderators/ administrator

If you are not mature enough to discuss controversial topics in a civil and respectful manner or are oversensitive to disagreement, then avoid posting to such topics.

Do not use the forum for personal communication. This also causes forum clutter. Personal messages are much more suitable for personal communication.

We reserve the right to remove any topics we deem inappropriate or disruptive to the discussion forum as a whole. Please note that from time to time topics may be removed or threads locked for being inappropriate even though your individual post in that topic may have been perfectly fine. Please do not feel this reflects badly on you and do not take these actions personally.

Members may not argue with a Moderator/Administrator's decisions or actions publicly, as in the open forums. If you have a question over what is appropriate or a complaint, direct it by personal message to a Moderator/Administrator. This is non negotiable.

Remember you will get out of this discussion forum what you put into it. If you are always argumentative and only post to controversial topics, using snide remarks or detrimental sarcasm, don't expect members or Moderator/Administrators to welcome you with open arms nor be surprised when others respond back to you in the same manner.

We do not allow fundraising, charity or otherwise, without prior approval. Please contact the Administrator for permission before posting anything to do with fundraising.

By agreeing to these rules you agree that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually oriented, hateful, threatening or in violation of any law. The owners, administrators, moderators reserve the right to remove, edit or close any thread for any reason.

    2. Advertising & Classifieds

All hunting, shooting and like businesses are free to put links in their signatures/avatars here on CTHuntingNShooting.com. Advertising (and associated costs) in the forums, banners, and ad pages is available by contacting the administrator of this site. CTHuntingNShooting.com is not responsible for content of ad or integrity of anyone selling any item here, nor is in any way liable for anything in association to sold items. For any and all firearms classifieds, you must follow the laws both at the state and federal level and include the disclaimer that is stickied at the top of that forum.

New members will be able to view the Classified Ads forum, but will not be able to utilize the Classified Ads forum for selling items until they have contributed a minimum of 10 posts. Member's items for sale or wanted can only be listed in the Classified Ads forum.

Businesses of the above nature are encouraged to participate in the forums before making posts about their product lines. It is good practice (common sense) as well to see if your offering is going to compete with any sponsor on CTHuntingNShooting.com. While we do not prohibit these types of posts, you are encouraged to use integrity based decisions when deciding to make a product offering.

If your business has any associated controversy, past or present, with any of the current CTHuntingNShooting.com sponsors, please do not engage in product offering posts. Should this be revealed, your thread/post will be removed, without notice nor conversation.

    3. Hunting Locations

Honestly, when posting a report, it simply doesn't matter. If you want to say where you hunted, do so, if not, that's all good as well. We would rather know more of the details surrounding the adventure. Don't burn other people's locations either.

    4. Photos & Content

Rated PG-13 is the key idea here. Nothing over and above that, period. Image/Text deletion will result if violated. Repeat offenses will result in membership deletion and permanent ban.

    5. PM Usage

If you have a message for a single person, or trouble with a post someone has made, use Private Messaging (PM) to address it.

    6. Jokes, Opinions, Ball Busting, etc...

Let's keep it to the "General Chatter", "Humor" and "Thrash Talk" forums only, respectively.

    7. Regulatory & Enforcement Forum

If you post a question in there, be patient for the response. They are busy folks, with organizations that are traditionally understaffed. If they have committed to providing guidance, they will get to us. Please wait for Encon to respond BEFORE adding your comments or opinions. Additionally, there is to be no arguing or bashing of Encon in any fashion, period.

    8. Forum Administration & Moderation

Moderators and Administrators have final say in all matters, period. Their call is final, in all cases. None of us/them are here to hinder your usage of CTHuntingNShooting.com, however, we reserve the right to edit inappropriate or inflammatory content from a thread/post.

    9. Banning, Deletion, "Super Ban", etc...

Use your head and basic common sense. If you do that, all should be good, unless you have no common sense or are here to cause trouble. There is no recourse once you have been banned. You are simply gone, and we are efficient at covering these bases, technologically. On this topic, simply because a person is banned does NOT mean they cannot be referenced or used in pictures, that would be ridiculous, as they are usually someone's friend, hunting partner, etc... You can feel free to discuss or mention banned members, as that is how real people socialize and operate. On a similar note, there is to be no discussion or argument regarding CTHuntingNShooting.com's decision to ban someone. It is our call, period, and not subject to further debate nor conversation.

    10. CTHS Photo Gallery

There is a CTHuntingNShooting.com Image Gallery available for use. It can be found on the forum menu bar, and is called Photos. Just click on the link and you'll be able to either view or upload images for use here on CTHuntingNShooting.com. You can upload pictures and link them in posts, via the link text provided under the picture, which you can just copy and paste directly into a post.

    11. Cross Linking To Other Forums

For the most part, this is not an issue here on CTHuntingNShooting.com.

    12. Image Content Here

Images posted on CTHuntingNShooting.com are inherently copyrighted by the same (unless copyright is held elsewhere).

    Stay tuned, and stay aware.
