TRENTON - On Monday, Dec. 6, the Department of Environmental Protection and its Division of Fish and Wildlife will begin a six-day bear hunt, to run through Saturday, Dec 11.

DEP and its Division of Fish and Wildlife officials will be available to provide information at the bear hunt media center to be located at the Pequest Wildlife Management Area in Oxford, Warren County, starting at 7:30 a.m. on Monday.

There will be press updates with any available hunt information at 12 noon and 5 p.m. at Pequest. Information on the numbers of bears harvested will be posted Monday evening, sometime after the check stations close at 7 p.m. at www.nj.gov/dep/fgw/ (http://www.nj.gov/dep/fgw/). On subsequent days, that posting will occur by 8 a.m. the next morning.

Hunt hours are 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset. Check station hours are 12 noon to 7 p.m.
