i have a remington 870 express 20 gauge and i just bought a browning .270 X-bolt. i can shoot the 20 gauge like nothing and i barely feel the recoil now. but how much recoil is the .270 going to have compared to the 20 gauge? any tips on trying to lower recoil? thanks!

The 270 will have a little more kick than the 20 ga. Some ways to lower the recoil are to use 130 grain bullets instead of 150 grain. Also there are also " Managed Recoil " loads that shoot hard, flat and have less recoil than standard loads.
Just looking on Cabela's website they have Remington Managed Recoil .270 rounds, 115 gr. pointed soft point for $25.99. This is plenty of wallop for deer sized game.

You could also put a ''Decelerator Pad'' on your rifle. They work great. I have one on my 30-06. Available at Cabela's. About $30.00.
