Bristol Fish & Game Association free Skeet and Trap shootin Sept 27th

Bristol Fish & Game Association will be offering free Skeet and Trap shooting to people who are interested in the shooting sports but perhaps have little or no experience. Instructors will be on hand and firearms and ammo will be provided. Hours of operation will be from 9AM-2PM. Pomfret Rod & Gun Club Junior Pheasant Hunting Day October 11

The Pomfret Rod & Gun Club will host their 3rd Annual Youth Hunting Day on Saturday, Oct. 11th. CEFS Instructors and dogs with experienced handlers will be available to assist. 20 Junior Hunters, ages 12 to 15, can be accommodated. Ten hunters will compose the first flight and will begin at 8:00a.m. Another ten hunters will begin at noon. Activities include use of the Trap Range, breakfast and lunch and there is no cost. Junior Hunters must have completed the CEFS Course and have a valid license. No tags are necessary and we will have 20 GA. Shotguns available for loan for those who need them. Community-based deer reduction talk in Weston October 14

The 16-town regional Fairfield County Deer Management Alliance is sponsoring a series of talks on community-based deer population control. The second talk will be held in Weston on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m., where Dr. Emile DeVito of the New Jersey Conservation Foundation will speak about the environmental devastation occurring due to deer overpopulation in the Northeast and what can be done to reverse this damage.
