Went out yesterday. In the morning a busted a couple of does on the way in and then again on the way out around 11am. Nothing in between. I went back out around 4pm and sat in a fog of mosquitoes until just before sunset. Four does came in and a young buck. I was hesitant about taking one this late and having to track in the dark especially after losing one last week. I finally opted to pass on the buck and take one of the does. She came in to about fifteen yards, I put the pin on her vitals and let it fly. She ran about twenty yards, walked around in a circle and then dove under a thicket. She stayed there until she expired. I was relieved that there was no tracking. By the time I dressed her and dragged her out it was about 8:30pm. Stoped and got some ice to pack her and got home about 10pm. Spent half the night skinning and butchering her. I am tired butwell worth it.
Not going out again until these mosquitoes fly south for the winter.

Congtatulations on the doe!! I'm with Bobby I'm laying low. I'm sick of scratching
bug bites.I have them on my back and have to rub in the door jam to hit some of
the spots I cant reach.:icon_e_surprised:

Congrats on the doe. I'd be with you if I had one in the freezer already but I just got back from picking up a refill for the ThermaCELL.
